DIVERSE COMMUNITIES CALL FOR DIVERSE HEALTHCARE TEAMS
SUPPORTING TOMORROW’S HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS
$973,987
for education support
Donors are furthering education for both current and emerging healthcare professionals; the QEII Foundation Diversity in Health Care Bursary program is just one example. Since 2018, these bursaries have supported 97 students on their learning journey. Many past recipients are now working in the healthcare sector, helping create a more diverse and inclusive healthcare system that better represents Nova Scotian communities, improving and, in many cases, saving the lives of patients.
The needs of a community are best supported by people who are a part of that community. To have a healthcare professional, like a speech pathologist, who understands the aspects of the community and what is needed – and to be an advocate – is so important.
